Franck, the original settler of Baird Creek Point circa 1700. Author and historian Kevin Dufus
has uncovered data that Susannah was pirate Blackbeard's sister and that he likely spent his
last two weeks of life on this property before his death at Ocrakoke. Dufus discovers that
Susannah is buried in the historic cemetery on site noted for its distinctive ballast stone grave
markers.
